Install Guides

Review the TrailMods install path before you buy or book a shop. The removable wide flares are simple after the base setup; the base install itself requires tools and planning.

No new body drilling, but not a no-tool install.

TrailMods flares are designed around the factory mounting locations on 2007-2017 Wrangler JK/JKU. The base install still includes real tool work: rivnuts, removing or trimming the OEM flare support bracket, and wiring if your kit includes running lights.

Install sequence

Base flare setup

The Crawler Series narrow flares install first using the factory mounting locations. Plan for a rivnut tool and bracket trimming/removal.

Street flare swap

After the base flares are installed, the Street Series wide flares attach for road coverage and can be removed for trail clearance.

Running light wiring

Kits with integrated running lights require a hard-wired connection to the vehicle marker light circuit during installation.
